Text Messaging Overview

Text Messaging Overview

Texting is one of the fastest and most direct ways to connect with customers. With 1Stop, you can send and receive text messages right from a contact record — and even automate texts to go out as soon as a lead enters your system.

This guide walks you through the basics of using text messaging in 1Stop.
Opting In & Opting Out of Text Messaging
To stay compliant with texting regulations, it’s important that contacts give permission before receiving SMS messages — and that they have a clear way to opt out at any time.

Opting In

Contacts can opt in to receive text messages in a few ways:
  1. Verbally or in writing (e.g., over the phone, in person, or via a web form).
  2. By checking a box on a website form that clearly states they agree to receive text messages.
  3. Manually marked as opted-in by a team member, after receiving permission.

Opting Out

Contacts can opt out of SMS messages at any time by:
  1. Replying with STOP
  2. Telling your team directly — you should then update their record by unchecking the Text Opt-In box.
Notes
Note
The only way a contact who has opted out (by replying with "STOP") can resume receiving texts is by texting the word "START" themselves.

There are regulations that require you to get a Contact to confirm that they agree to receive text messages.

1. From the Contact record, go to the Text Messages section using the Related List

2. You can either type your message in the gray box or click the document icon to choose a template. Once your message is ready, click Send.

Create a Text Template
1. From the Contact record, go to Text Messages section using the Related List. Click the Template icon (the document icon), then select + Add New Template.

2. Give your template a name, and enter the message you want to save. When you're done, click Add to save the template.

3. Select your new Template, then click Send to use it.
Viewing Message History
Every text sent from 1Stop is logged in the related record’s timeline. You’ll see:
  1. The message content
  2. Who sent it
  3. When it was sent
This keeps your communication organized and easy to reference.

Note
To view a contact’s full text history, click Text History in the Related List on their Contact record.
