Creating a Referral

Whether they are coming from an existing Contact, Employee, Canvasser, or some other source, companies know that Referrals are among the best Leads they receive. So 1Stop has created an efficient process for creating, managing and tracking Referrals - including paying the referring individual, if applicable. Click on a subject below to learn more. 
Creating a Referral
To create a Referral, follow the step below.

1. Navigate to the Referrals module and click "Create Referral". 


2. Select the appropriate "Referral Type" from the list of available choices:
  1. Contact: from an existing Contact
  2. Sales Self Gen: from a Sales Rep
  3. Employee: from a non-Sales Rep employee
  4. Canvasser: from a Canvasser


3. After choosing your "Referral Type", a new field will appear. If you choose Contact, the new field will be "Referring Contact", at which point you will select the existing Contact that provided the Referral. All other "Referral Types" will display a "Generated By" field, where you can again pick who provided the Referral. 


4. Complete the rest of the fields, with those marked with a red line indicating they are mandatory. The "Referrer Message" field can be used for any notes from the person referring the new Contact. Once complete, click "Save".


5. After clicking "Save" above, a new Referral record, new Contact and a new Opportunity will all be created. The "Generated By" is recorded as the person that provided the Referral, the "Referral Status" is the current State the Referral is in, and clicking "Contacts" in the Related List will jump down the page to a link to the newly created Contact.
